Turning Pain into Action: A Journey from Survival to Advocacy

Lived Experience

10:15 AM – 11:15 AM

Description

Francesca Reicherter will share her powerful journey from a suicide attempt survivor to a leading mental health advocate, clinical psychology student, nonprofit founder, speaker, and writer. She will open with a vulnerable look into her darkest moments leading her into a psych ward. Francesca will then explore her life leading up to the attempt, the challenges she faced, the obstacles encountered learning to navigate the system, and what she wishes was accessible to her in the crisis services back then. She will highlight how she found hope through receiving a proper diagnosis and gained the tools that helped her recover, including therapy, medication, resiliency skills, and support networks. The talk will then shift to her transformation, detailing how she found purpose in mental health advocacy, pursued a master's degree in clinical psychology, and founded a nonprofit organization that has made a significant impact on the community. Francesca will share how she has utilized her story to inspire and educate others through public speaking and writing.

Her story is a message of hope and will leave you inspired to turn your pain into action.
